Get a tow alert when a vehicle moves with its ignition off
1 min read
If a tracked vehicle is moved while its ignition is off, for example towed or lifted, your Admins get an email that names the vehicle. This can help you spot theft quickly.
Before you start
- The vehicle needs a GPS tracking device installed and reporting.
- You don't need to set a curfew or a zone. Tow alerts work for every tracked vehicle.
Steps
- Make sure the vehicle's tracking device is installed and online.
- Make sure your Admins have email addresses on their user profiles.
Result / verify
- When the vehicle moves with its ignition off, Admins get a tow alert email that names the vehicle.
- If the vehicle keeps moving, you get at most one tow alert for that vehicle every 30 minutes. Each vehicle has its own 30-minute limit, so an alert for one vehicle doesn't stop alerts for another.
