QuickBooks didn't connect: what the connection messages mean

1 min read

When you connect QuickBooks, Servinix shows whether the connection worked. If it didn't, you see a clear message, so you won't think your books are syncing when they aren't.

Before you start

You need to be an account owner or admin, and you need a QuickBooks login for the company you want to connect.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings › Integrations › Accounting and click Connect QuickBooks.
  2. In the window that opens, sign in to QuickBooks, choose your company and approve the connection.
  3. Read the message that appears:
    • Connected to [your company name]: the connection worked.
    • Connection canceled: the approval in QuickBooks wasn't completed. Try again and approve the connection.
    • Connection failed or Connection couldn't be verified: the connection didn't go through. Try again. If the message mentions that the company is already connected to another account, disconnect it there first, or contact support.

Result / verify

On the accounting screen, a connected account shows your QuickBooks company name and lets you turn on syncing. If you still see Connect QuickBooks, the account isn't connected.
