Change or remove the deposit on a project

If a customer agrees to a different deposit, or to no deposit at all, you can update the project so it matches what was agreed.

Before you start

You need permission to edit estimates and projects. You can only change a deposit that hasn't been invoiced yet.

Steps

  1. Open the project you want to change.
  2. Find the Deposit field.
  3. To change the deposit, enter the new percentage or amount.
  4. To remove the deposit, set it to zero or clear the field.
  5. Save the project.

Result / verify

The new deposit shows on the project. If you removed it, the field reads "No deposit. This project will not request one." and the customer won't be asked for a deposit.
