Automatic payments that need bank approval are now recorded even if the customer leaves the page
1 min read
Some automatic payments need the customer to approve the charge with their bank. Once the bank approves it, the invoice is marked paid, even if the customer closes the portal page before it finishes.
Before you start
This applies to customers who pay invoices through automatic payments in the customer portal.
Steps
- The customer gets a request to approve an automatic payment with their bank.
- The customer approves the payment with their bank.
- You don't need to do anything else, and the customer doesn't need to come back to the portal.
Result / verify
- Open the invoice in the office. It shows as paid shortly after the bank approves the payment.
- The payment is recorded once, with the date it was approved.
- While the bank is confirming, the customer sees a message that the payment is being confirmed and that they shouldn't pay again.
